MARX TO MINNA KAUTSKY
IN PARIS
London, 1 October 1881
41 Maitland Park Road, N. W.
Dear Madam,
I enclose herewith a note for my daughter.[1] Argenteuil is quite close to Paris, about 20 minutes from the Gare[2] St Lazare.
I would have taken the liberty of inviting you to stay at my house in London — and your son will have told you how greatly everyone in the family admires your works— had not my wife's shocking and, I fear, fatal illness put a stop, as it were, to our intercourse with the outside world.
My wife and daughter send you
With sincerest wishes for your future prosperity,
Yours very truly,
Karl Marx
